Indeed, renaming program entities that are referenced all over a project is on its way. I can&#039;t promise anything, but I hope that it will appear in the Eclipse IDE very soon. You can see it in action if you watch the video of my Scala Days presentation (the rename demo starts at 18:40, it doesn&#039;t show renaming over multiple files, but that works as well).</description>

I read your article on your wiki and it looks very interesting. I see in your next steps section of you term paper that you are also looking at project level dependencies that would be necessary to support refactorings like renaming. Have you made any progress on this?

While it is very &quot;simple&quot;, renaming is perhaps the refactoring I use the most, and also one of the most painful/dangerous if there is no tool support so it would be something I would be very interested in seeing.
